GIS in development cooperation – Teachers mobility

Past three weeks I had the opportunity to realize project titled  GIS in development cooperation – Teachers mobility, financed through the Norway Grants. The planned mobility was focused on increasing my capacity as well as sharing best practices in the areas of Geoinformatics (GIS) and Development Studies. Both me as well as hosting institute (NTNU Trondheim) are active in fields of Geography, Geoinformatics and Development Studies. Especially the combination of GIScience and Development Studies is very rare and therefore we all saw quite a lot of potential in starting the cooperation.  Continue reading

Participatory GIS at NTNU, Norway – is there any?

Thanks to the EEA Grants and Norway Grants I am able to visit the Department of Geography at NTNU (Trondheim, Norway). The aim of my stay is to learn and observe, how local experts teach GIS in context of Development Studies, as well as to share some of my experience.
