Couple days ago I posted about the first webinar of the International Society for Participatory Mapping (ISPM) titled “The roots of our practice”. The speakers were Wendy Brawer, Giacomo Rambaldi and Michael McCall – all three of them my personal heroes and people who shaped the participatory mapping field.
If you are interested in watching the webinar, here is the video. I motivate you to join us at the ISPM to be able to joint the discussions, participate in our events, etc.
In Episode 1 we explore the roots of our practice. Host Jon Corbett will invite three recognized leaders in participatory mapping to reflect on their experiences and the development of this field of practice. Drawing on many decades of applied work, our speakers will share anecdotes and lessons learned, as well as consider the future development of participatory mapping methods and our community of practice.
Speakers
Wendy Brawer, Founder and Director, Green Map System
Giacomo Rambaldi, Senior Advisor / Consultant, Participatory Mapping and Digitalisation in Agriculture
Mike McCall, Senior Researcher, Centre for Research in Environmental Geography (CIGA), National Autonomous University of Mexico
